The course Nautical license Over 12M, qualifies for the management of sailing and motor boats, without power limit of overall length up to 24 meters without any limit for navigation from the coast. Issued by the Italian Harbor Master's Office, it is mandatory for the management of boats over 10mt, for coastal navigation over 6 miles from the coast, for engines with a displacement greater than 40.9hp, for the practice of water-skiing and for the conduct of jet ski. This course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge for obtaining this license through the study and preparation of the exam topics for training purposes and for passing the exam. The topics of the course and examination:. Notes on buoyancy and stability. - Centers of thrust and gravity of pleasure craft; . Fire and explosion prevention - Knowledge of fire prevention systems; . Notes on meteorology in general - Atmosphere: pressure, temperature, humidity and measuring instruments - winds - currents - reading of the weather map; .Elements of terrestrial and naval magnetism; .Concept of orthromy and rhumb line; . Notes on astronomy: recognition of the Polar Star - Notes on measuring the height of the stars and angles with the use of the sextant and with the use of nautical Ephemeris; Coastal navigation: resolution of related problems even in the presence of wind and current; . Notes on on-board radioelectric devices and their use; .Radionavigation - Hyperbolic and satellite navigation systems; Time zone: local time calculation; Nautical publications; .Radio-telephone communications and related procedures; .Sea; . Notes on the leasing and rental of pleasure craft; Limitless on-board equipment. Course structure and duration: .5 theoretical preparation modules; .6 correspondence preparation forms; .1 exam simulation; .12 hours of sailing practice; The course has the duration of Within 12M + 4 modules, 1 of theory and 3 of correspondence, in appointments of 2 hours each. It is also possible to organize it according to the needs and requirements of the individual or group. Exam procedure: At the Port Authority of Genoa -3 problems of correspondence on estimated navigation with drift, detection of the ship's point from conspicuous points and interception routes (0 errors); -20 multiple choice theory quiz questions (3 errors max) + 13 integration quiz questions Over 12M (2 errors max); - Practical test of sailing, crew management and nautical knowledge.
